This Wednesday, Sept. 19, with be the first early release of this school year. Students will be released two hours earlier than normal at 1:01 p.m. for staff development at Sparta High School.
During this early release, SHS will be partnering with Western Technical College to discuss, and actually take, the COMPAS exam. The COMPAS exam is the college entrance exam that students can take (or the ACT) prior to enrolling in a Wisconsin technical college. This exam measures the academic and career readiness of students prior to enrolling into a technical college. The goal is to have SHS faculty gain a better idea on how they can help SHS students perform better on this exam, thus being more prepared for their post secondary education.
Thank you for your continued support in these district staff development opportunities as they are extremely valuable for increasing student achievement.
If you have any questions about this early release, or any other issues in regard to Sparta High, please feel free to contact Principal Sam Russ at 366-3504 or at sruss@spartan.org.
